Let me FALL...zzzzz (asleep)

Since this year came I don’t remember having a good night sleep...literally speaking I have been deprived from sleep--the busy schedule at work, the meetings for the committee, the late night outs, the parties, the get together, the return shift and lately the straight duty for 16 hours. These things gave me the reason to be deprived from sleep.

I am not a coffee lover believe me, give me milk or tea I can drink it everyday, every hour…but coffee has been my companion lately and I hate to say it but it has been useful for the past few months however I need to stop I don’t want to be reliant to it.

Just this week I had a straight 16 ours of duty from 3PM – 7AM the next day and thank goodness I survived I’ve done it like three times before but those were the days that I still get goodnight sleep and I know I can handle it. Good thing I still did. Well I did some research about sleep and I browsed that sleeping position has personality meanings too. Funny I can actually relate to it. I am glad to share what I found. Check what’s your sleep position and if it does match your personality.

Personality: FREEFALLER
As a freefaller you tend to be very intense, even if not always outwardly so. You often wear your heart on your sleeve, and your willingness to go out of your way for friends can get you in trouble sometimes. You can be gregarious and wild at times, for that is your inner personality but many freefallers keep that side of themselves bottled up because they have learned their intense energy can get them into trouble. They love freedom, they tend to lose temper too and watch out! You typically sleepy very well, but occasionally your emotions get better of you and you can't sleep at all.

Position:
Lying on your front with your hands around the pillow, and your head turned to one side.

Personality: LOG SLEEPER
As a Log sleeper you are more carefree than people who sleep in other positions. Your relaxed, almost statuesque sleeping state represents your relaxed inner self. You trust that you will sleep well, just as you trust other people. You are generally easy-going, with a very sociable personality. You enjoy being part of the in-crowd other people are drawn to your friendliness, and you are drawn to other people. This is a good thing for you, but at times it makes you too trusting of strangers.

Position:
Log sleepers sleep on their sides with their back and legs straight, hands at their sides, with the side of their face resting against the pillow.

Personality: SOLDIER
As a soldier sleeper you tend to be more quiet ans reserved, but they harbor very strong emotion on the inside even if they don't always show them. You are good at practicing self-control and caution and you are very dependable. You tend to chase after your goals one step at a time. You are consistent, structured, and difficult to interpret for lack of flamboyance or outward arrogance. You are committed to protecting people close to you. You tend to be organized either physically, mentally, or both and you tend to be an intelligent thinker.

Position:
A soldier keeps flat on his or her back, face to the ceiling, arms down at the side or slightly out, and legs straight.

Personality: STARFISH
The starfish sleepers are often excellent listeners, making them great friends and confidants. Starfish sleepers will find that their kindness and willignness to help others makes them shy away from being the center of attention most of the time. But, every now and then they shine in the spotlight and enjoy it!

Position:
Lying on your back with your legs slightly to full spread and your arms slightly to fully out from your side.

Personality: STARGAZER
Lovers of liberty, seekers of comfort, admirers of beauty, the stargazer's happy-go-lucky attitude towards life can be magnetic at times. As your open, free, warmth-accepting sleep pose reflects, you enjoy life and all the beautiful things it has to offer. Beware though, as you do not take discomfort lightly and people may complain that your expectations can be too high at times. Also, you should guard against being too talkative about other people.

Position:
Lying on your back with both arms up around the pillow.

Personality: THINKERS
They are often described as though on the outside, but sensitive deep down inside. They are often very kind and gentle, but afraid of being hurt emotionally. Thinkers are said to be blessed with fortune and power. These thinkers are said to have the ultimate confidence in their future success. Thinkers can be bold and adventurous, or structured and confined. They can be energetic or withdrawn. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax.

Position:
They are characterized by sleeping on one's side, often in a fetal or curled up position but always bent at least slightly, sometimes with arms curled on top of the pillow, sometimes with one arms under the pillow.

Personality: YEARNER
Their personality is one of the most complex positions. As a yearner you will be quite open and friendly, but deep down you will harbor doubts about other people. In your outward kindness you have a tendency to be inwardly cynical. You also take your time in making decisions, but once your mind is made up it is hard to change it back. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as it keeps you from opening up too quickly and making brash decision. But, it can also earn you a reputation for being stubborn. Yearners can make the best of friends when they are truly committed, and their loyalty is rewarded in kind.

Position:
People who sleep in this position sleep with their heads slightly off the center of the pillow, arms outstretched along it, back straight, and legs slightly bent.

If you think you are one of those people who move through all of these positions, that's not likely to really be the case. The research reveals most people stay in the same position all night and only 5% lay differently night by night. Also interesting is that the study showed only one in ten people cover their bodies entirely with a blanket, with most people exposing an arm, leg, or both feet.

So which sleeping position do you fit in?
