Gourmet Sandwich at Almon Marina

Dinner date with my parents ---what's new? sila lang naman lagi ko ka-date :D.

My parents and I were supposed to watch the movie House Husband and would love to get a good feedback from it. Unfortunately ang dami pa din tao. I forgot that it's still the vacation of the students and it's somehow a post-xmas celebration for families.  Especially for the kids who would spend their mga pamasko from Ninongs and Ninangs (Godparents) sa mall.

Well I told them I’ll treat them for dinner but we had a light dinner only. I’ve been passing by this restaurant a couple of times and finally, I tried their menu. I’ve been craving for subway this past few weeks so was really looking forward for some sandwich menu. Voila! Welcome to Almon Marina.

The restaurant is what they call a semi-self service style. You get to pay as you order to their counter, the take your seat and wait for the service crew to serve you some plates, drinks, and utensils lastly your orders. They started as a cold seafood and deli-store that turned into a Sandwich Bar and Deli in 1990.

I’ll tell you now their menu are not that expensive not a fine dining but I think if you have a job can definitely pay! I was so full in a light dinner that we had. We tried different pasta – Bolognese, Puttanesca and Alfredo. We had sausage, roast beef sandwich, and subway ham on our side. The cute thing about their service is they placed this little different flags in their delis.

They have different foods to offer like house grilled specialties, salads, pastas; kebab servings, chicken / turkey / ham / sausage and even seafood sandwiches,…name it. They offer party menus for groups too. Although I wasn’t able to taste their desserts I’m pretty sure to try it next time I went back to the restaurant. (So who’s with me? It’s a date! ) Glad to know my parents enjoyed the food as well and that’s why I’m RECOMMENDING it! You guys should try it…SEE and TASTE it for yourself.

The Almon Marina  is located at the 2/F of Festival Supermall, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. You can try their other branches too at Makati City, Mandaluyong City, SM Mall of Asia, and SM South Mall.

Reality Changers - Jorge, Alexa and Eliana Narvaez

Real People...Real Lives...

I came across a video just minutes ago and I was very much inspired with the people involved in the video that I even subscribed to their page and kept watching their other videos too.

YouTube has been a large influenced in most of the people being known through their videos and his one of the thousands who became famous. He's Jorge Narvaez. I don't know him personally nor his daughters but he has two lovely kids who are all talented.

Every family has their own story and I’d be honest I don’t have the right to discuss it here. I am writing this post so that people will also be inspired by a single father with two lovely daughters taking videos of almost their everyday lives and posting it in YouTube just for plain fun. A young man at the age of 20+, single father for two, finishing college and working too is a tough job. I guess everyone has a tough job it’s just we, sometimes love what we do and even if it’s hard it’s for the sake of loving what we do and that it’s for the people we love too. Jorge made use of his talents which I think his daughters got from him and now their all happy having time spent together making all their videos talking and singing about FAMILY, COMMUNITY, ART and MUSIC.

I am inspired. It was really nice to watch this little girls sing along with their daddy and you can also see in their videos that their enjoying what their doing or I guess their enjoying their time with their daddy. I like how Alexa sings and she's so pretty while Eliana is so cute I like to squeeze her chubby cheeks. Both girls are so adorable. :)

This Father-Daughter tandem will always be an inspiration for everyone and not only for those people with talents but also for fathers who truly love their children and for everyone who just want to have fun, document it, replay it a couple of times and enjoy laughing at every moment.

Family bonding like this will serve as an example that HOME is wherever I'm with you. -Just like their song  :D

NEW UuNnIiFfOoRrMm

YIPPEEE NAPALITAN NA, BAGO NA :)

After 2 years for me and more years to my senior we now have our new uniform. :)
But we don't only have new uniform; we also have new found friends. "People always leave" - Peyton Sawyer, One tree Hill. But sometimes they do come back and sometimes we found new friends too.

Working as a front liner I have had tried different uniforms, the GSA (Guest Service Agent) and the FOA (Front Office Agent) uniform, though I haven't tried the GSC (Guest Service Center) uniform we also have that and of course our Concierge's uniform which my bully brothers from Concierge department always tease me to wear that too. Believe me we're brothers and sisters in our department, though some have left already we still are and it's normal for us to bully each other. Not unless we're really in a serious and bad mood. :)

We're quite excited about this new sets of uniform but mind you a lot of adjustments was made and still needs to...but what the heck?! We have new sets now. I guess we don't always get what we want. Guests loved it, our colleagues want it and we're glad about it. That's it!

So I took some of these photos for this post but I’ll try to update it once I have all our pictures together already. Enjoy and happy viewing. :D

Anysia Zuri turns One :)

ANYSIA ZURI NARCISO

Second lovely daughter of our
Manager Mommy Glennis to her hubby Chef Xerxes. :)

Zuri was so tiny before when she was born, her mom can carry her using just one hand and now she's so healthy, beautiful and so adorable. For sure someday she's going to be as pretty as her parents, as talented and smart as them as well, just like her older sister who we truly love, Naima. :)

The Birthday was held last December 10 at Jollibee Molito Branch. We were so happy we were there. I guess it was always nice to attend parties and take note even kiddie parties, that remind us to be children again. I guess because we don't have babies to chase while they're running around the whole area or babies who wouldn't let go of our hand that's why we had fun the most. We are fond of babies super duper...even kids at work we would love to kiss and hug them, but of course not ready to have one. Uhmmm let me excuse Francis for that he had one already :D.

We loved the games were the hot Mommas like Mommy Jem and Dads joined. The video presentation about Zuri was really cool as well. We love to attend get together like this one, having party hats, Jollibee and Hetty was there too and most specially the food we ate, the pictures we took, we even had a lot of shots from the photo booth which was really nice where we spend most of the time.

After the birthday, some went home and some still continued to hang out. We passed by Soderno at Molito then we went to ATC and just chill at Starbucks. Though that wasn't the original plan that night, but more of that story on the upcoming blogs... :)

Gift giving for a Cause :D

This holiday season let's give gift to those who needed it the most.

Last December 17, 2011, the Northern Mindanao experienced for the first time a horrifying flash flood caused by Typhoon Sendong. The cities of Iligan and Cagayan de Oro City were mostly affected. Reports stated that hundreds died and hundreds more are missing.

I am not having thousands of readers but I do hope we can share this message to almost every one of our family members, friends, or loved ones. We can help in different ways. Let’s have a helping hand this Christmas Season by sharing foods, clothes, toiletries, and even cash donations.

My friends and I from work were planning last month for a charity donation, even before this had happened and they asked me to look for a charity were we could give our donation. I told that to my parents just today and since they were fond of playing Bingo at Festival Mall (yes they are :D) they said that they were accepting goods, clothes and other donations at Bingo Festival Mall. So girls, as what I usually call you Carlilay, Jenpot, Airabols and Jerx (haha I did namedrop on this one). This is it; we can give our donations at the 4th floor of Festival Mall. All we need now is to gather our donations and choose the date on when we can give it. For our other workmates your also welcome to give donations you can contact me anytime.

Here are some other of the links were we can choose to give our donations.

Making PLANS and Making HISTORY

...PLANNING...

"Do you make plans?" "If so, how often and did it go through accordingly?"...I recently asked these questions with some of my friends and family.

Some of them answered, yes, no, and it depends on the situation...

I recently bought a planner...which I yearly do way back in high school. It's the Belle de Jour Planner 2012.

Planner for 2012

Here you can jot down almost everything that's why I love it. And I'm not saying this to promote the item, for me it is very useful. And for people like me - to identify to those who always wants to have a plan - this is somewhat useful. It has different sections besides the weekly/monthly dates. More for girl stuff I guess. It keeps me on track about my life, things I wanted to do, places I wanted to travel, expenses I incurred, savings I have, dreams I wanted, gift list, health checklist even my menstrual tracker. It also has coupon pages for discounts or freebies to different outlets which I'd be honest I never used. Okay, stop right there, I think I'm promoting it already :)

As I said/wrote in the first part I had a planner ever since I was in school. We even have a diary on our school which is like a size of a book that we need to bring everyday that our teacher needs to check if we wrote something on it like our assignments, seatworks, etc. Call it crazy but I can say it became useful; it made me more organized on my school stuffs. Then, I got more organized by having my own planner. I started having the small planners, ones from papemelroti (I'm not sure if the planners still exist) but I think so, I haven't gone to that store since I graduated.  Then I had this belle de jour :)

Here are some of my past planners...some I can't find anymore lol!

So do I make plans? - Isn't obvious? ;)
How often? - Almost every day, every week, every month, every year.
Does it go accordingly? - Not always...but sometimes it's better. :)

Yes I have to admit, it doesn't always go as planned. Sometimes its better, sometimes it's not. But do we have a choice? Yes and that's to make another plan. As they said -

As for some plans like traveling, I would want to somehow keep it organized so that I won't miss out on the good places I would love to visit. I don't like wasting my time trying to figure out what to do, where to go, and what to eat. But for the record, I would love to try one thing. To travel on my own, not knowing anyone, no plans, and see where my feet will bring me, though that would be in the future I guess I probably need a good amount of budget for that. I might get lost here and there. :)

For plans like with friends...we have a saying "Buti pa ang biglaang lakad natutuloy ang planado hindi."  So0ooo00 true! How many times did my friends and I made a plan but didn't work out that way. Sometimes it is better and sometimes nothing really happened so we reschedule it again and again and again or to say - "Let's just don't make plans and COME WHAT MAY!"

I have to be honest it sucks when what you planned didn't pushed through. It does - BIG TIME! But still some things aren't just meant to happen the way we wanted it to. Or it's just not meant to happen the day we wanted it to, instead in the future maybe.

Some people plan for their professional life, some for personal, some just doesn't. What's the difference? Nothing actually, it's more on our own perspective and how do we manage those plans. My friend said he does make plans but mostly it's for his future more for the dreams or ideas he wants to achieve someday like finish school, have his own business, have a family. Another friend told me that he makes plan, like what to do today? - exercise, go out with friends, or rest. Another one told me he makes professional plans but never for his personal.

I was inspired by some of the people I asked mostly my sister, when I asked her she said - "no I don't plan ahead because what I'm doing everyday is according to His will." True enough and when I asked for a verse she did gave me this - Proverbs 3:5-6.

So whether you're a planner or not, we all have to trust our heart to HIM and not on our own understanding. He has three answers: YES, NOT NOW and I HAVE A BETTER IDEA. :) If It doesn't go the way we wanted to, He has a better idea.

tO start Of...

 What a name?

To start of...a little introduction would do I guess and I tell you now this is going to be my first blog and hopefully not the last so bare with me. I do consider myself still young having the age of 23. I am a normal gal. I have work, I finished college, I have savings,I gossip (chiquei chikadora), I dance, I sing my heart out loud, I talk a lot (so for those who know me personally they know why voice is somewhat different and they're used to it haha!) I have a complete family, all my 4 siblings are girls, youngest in the family somewhat spoiled, I have a lot of friends (definitely not a loner), but no boyfriend so proud to be single. (Wink) I love fashion, arts, movies, music, pictures, and I love to eat. I appreciate beauty in nature and in mankind (ibig sabihin mga gwapo) hahaha...but not just physical I appreciate every good thing in a human being whether you're a girl or guy,...or whatever you call or identify yourself as long as you do good to me or to others I appreciate you. :) Best of all I have faith and love in HIM :) Yes, the Big Boss up there.

I wrote all of those things about me because mostly these are the topics that would be in this blog. And anyone as in anyone no exception is free to read and scribble your thoughts about this site. I am pretty much excited in doing this. I dreamed of being a travel show host or a writer in a travel magazine but thankful enough to start of with a blog instead. Since most people are "techy" as they call themselves, medyo tamad na magbasa or some workaholics na lagi ng nasa harap ng computer, this is somewhat easier for them.

Well some might ask where I got the nickname CHIQUEI - with a weird spelling. As a child I guess especially when you're the youngest your Mom used to call you a lot of names. For me my Mama used to call me different names, - bunso, kisipeya, kirengkeng, pisiki, and voila! Chiquei. I'd be honest I forgot how the spelling went like that. It was just my Mom who calls me that and in our house it's either Rhonna or Bunso is what they call me. Yes up to now that I'm old enough they still consider me young and being called as Bunso. Then, somewhat middle school, some of my friends heard my mom calling me Chiquei and they started calling me that too, until I got used to it so now almost everyone knows me by my nickname instead of my real name.

CLICK THE CHIQUEI
How did I come up with the title clickthechiquei? It all started when me and my friends (na makikilala niyo on my upcoming blogs) were on a road trip and they were asking a lot of things even direction and lucky them (talagang lucky sila lol!) I knew most of it so they decided to tease me and said instead of clickthecity they called me the name clickthechiquei. :) As simple as that, then as I was starting to make this site I remember those days and decided to name my blog as - CLICKTHECHIQUEI. :)

Well I guess I am fan of wanting to know about almost anything, places, food to eat, diet tips, fashion, movies, music, etc. That's why I wanted to share it to my friends, even the latest chika.  It was really funny when I watched a really great movie and I wanted to tell the story line to my friends it should be complete. All detailed, the lines the actors said, the expression, even the emotions they portray. Take note even the latest buzz in showbiz. I wanted to know about it then share to it to my friends. That's why they also call me - Chiquei Chikadora :D.

So there it goes...I guess I made a good start now and I'll end this blog with this bible verse that really inspires me.

This is a part of my plan in the beginning of this year and I just started when the year is about to end. Still I managed to start and I'll commit to it and to the Lord so that it will come as a success. Happy reading. :)
